Product Review: dpHUE ACV

Good morning, beautiful.

I have used this product a few times now and I wanted to report back to you on it. I originally received this in my Fall Fab Fit Fun box. I was super excited about it because I had been wanting to jump on the “No poo” – no shampoo bandwagon for a while now.  It’s suposed to be a great way to cleanse and condition your hair while avoiding harmful chemicals and other ingredients or methods of testings on animals, etc…

Retail price: $35.00

Available: Multiple stores, I did see it at Ulta.

So, here are my thoughts on this.

Initially, I loved the bottle. The squirt bottle top that it comes with makes it very easy to apply. You part your hair in a few places and apply the product on to your scalp. This made it easy to not use too much and apply it only where intended. The smell wasn’t as horrible as straight apple cider vinegar is, it was a little more muted. However, it still wasn’t a pleasant smell when using it. I will say that once your hair is dry, you no longer can smell it so that is good.

If you’re a person who loves a good lather, this does not lather. I was ok with that. After washing my hair, it did feel amazingly soft. I really loved how soft my hair felt. But, it made my hair feel so heavy and greasy. I have read that with ACV it can take a few weeks to get beyond that greasy gross feeling and look. I’ll be honest, I couldn’t make it more than a couple of washes with this stuff. My scalp and hair was so greasy, even dry shampoo couldn’t help it. Even fresh out of the shower, just washed, it looked and felt so greasy. I LOVED how soft my hair continued to be, but overall, I just couldn’t get over the grease.

Also, I was confused why there would be so many ingredients in a seemingly simple product.

I wanted to love this, but it is a no from me.  Still curious about trying it for yourself? Here are some more details for you.
